Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) – Nights in Seattle, WA. 13-week high-acuity travel nursing contract for experienced L&D RNs in a fast-paced, high-volume unit.
Job Details – Seattle L&D Travel Nursing
- Location: Seattle, WA 98122 (Seattle healthcare, Washington nursing jobs)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: April 27, 2026
- End Date: July 27, 2026
- Shift: Nights, 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 – $2,040
- Setting: High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit (31 beds, 4 ORs, ~500–600 deliveries/month)
- Floating: Required to Postpartum/Antepartum and may float to sister facilities
- Schedule: Every other weekend and holidays as needed; schedule posted every 6 weeks
Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years recent Labor & Delivery experience in a high-acuity, high-volume environment (5 years high-risk preferred)
- Travel Experience: Previous travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
- Licensure: Active RN license (compact licenses accepted at Swedish facilities) — Washington nursing jobs candidates encouraged
- Required Certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation)
- Preferred Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
- Charting: Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
- References: Current supervisory references required
- Documentation: Proof of certifications must be provided with submission
Key Responsibilities – Labor & Delivery RN
- Provide comprehensive labor support and nursing care to obstetric patients, including high-risk and high-volume cases
- Serve as Baby Nurse during deliveries and manage newborn care until transfer to postpartum
- Circulate for C-sections and provide immediate newborn care: eyes prophylaxis, Vitamin K, APGAR scoring, newborn assessments
- Administer medications as indicated (e.g., Heparin, Insulin, Magnesium Sulfate) and manage emergency interventions
- Support breastfeeding and lactation initiation; educate patients and families on postpartum care
- Perform fetal monitoring, assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, and adhere to AWHONN staffing guidelines
- Float to Postpartum/Antepartum units and to sister facilities as required by staffing needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and physicians
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic and follow infection control and patient safety protocols
