• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: April 20, 2026
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18:30 – 07:00) — Night shift ER nurse
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Every other weekend plus additional shifts as needed
• Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Charting System: Cerner — experience with Cerner preferred

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience — Emergency Department RN / ER nurse
• Previous travel RN experience required (no first-time travelers)
• Active Illinois RN license required at time of application
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (AHA or Red Cross only)
• Experience in general ED with combined adult/pediatric populations
• Experience with Cerner charting system
• Ability to float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced Emergency Department
• Perform triage, assessment, and treatment for a wide range of medical emergencies including trauma, psychiatric, and pediatric cases
• Administer emergency medications, manage ventilated patients, and perform procedures such as intubation, central line care, chest tube management, and splint application
• Interpret arterial blood gases, dysrhythmias, and 12-lead EKGs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and isolation precautions
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training modules as required
