• Shift: 12-hour nights; weekends as scheduled (Night Shift Med/Surg RN)

• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Med/Surg RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience (acute care preferred)
• Ability to titrate IV drips (heparin, bumex, lasix; no cardiac drip titration)
• Willingness to float to other MS, MS-Tele, or IMC units as needed
• Flexibility to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotation
• First-time travelers welcome — travel nursing jobs open to all experienced Med/Surg RNs
• Submission must include a copy of an unexpired driver's license

Key Responsibilities (Med/Surg Registered Nurse)

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for common acute diagnoses including pneumonia, UTI, AMS, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, falls, and generalized weakness
• Maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios (typically 1:6-8 on nights)
• Perform ongoing patient assessments, monitor and document vital signs, BGMs, EKGs, and apply heart monitors as needed
• Administer medications and titrate approved drips per facility guidelines
• Assist with ADLs: bathing, feeding, toileting, turning, and positioning
• Collaborate closely with respiratory therapy regarding respiratory equipment and patient needs
• Work alongside patient care techs and charge nurses to ensure safe, efficient care
• Chart accurately using the Cerner electronic medical record system
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing education to support travel nurse integration and professional development
