This 13-week travel contract is based at a short-term acute care teaching hospital and includes cases in general, ortho, neuro, ENT, vascular, plastics, gynecology, urology, and robotic-assisted surgery. • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,220 - $1,310
• Position: Travel Surgical Technologist / Surgical Tech / OR Tech
• Location: Vero Beach, FL 32960 (Indian River County, Treasure Coast)
• Facility Type: Short-Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 19, 2026 – August 18, 2026)
• Shift: Day Shift, 3x12-Hour (06:00 - 18:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Charting / EMR: EPIC (experience preferred)
• Scrub Color: Ceil Blue
• Parking: Free in any unrestricted space

Job Requirements (Surgical Tech Qualifications)

• Minimum 18 months of Surgical Technologist experience required; 2 years preferred
• Strong neurosurgical (neuro) experience is a must; experience with ortho and robotics a plus
• BLS (AHA) required
• NBSTSA (CST) or NCCT certification preferred
• Nicotine-free (negative 10-panel + Nicotine drug screen required)
• Must complete time-sensitive modules prior to start
• First-time travelers accepted (travel healthcare jobs encouraged)
• References from direct supervisor/manager required
• Must pass EKG and Pharm tests during orientation (2 attempts max)

Responsibilities

• Assist in a broad range of surgical procedures: general, ortho, neuro, ENT, vascular, plastics, gyn, urology, and robotic-assisted cases
• Demonstrate proficiency in neuro surgeries and specialty instrumentation
• Prepare operating room, sterile instruments, instrumentation trays, and robotics setup as required
• Maintain aseptic technique and ensure patient safety throughout procedures
• Handle and label specimens, ensure proper sterilization, disinfection, and instrument count accuracy
• Adhere to universal protocols and safety procedures (fire, laser, radiation, sharps safety)
• Float within scope to meet facility needs and support sister facilities as required
• Participate in on-call rotation as discussed with manager
• Complete required orientation modules and annual training
