Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,690 - $1,820 (competitive travel healthcare pay)
• Location: General OR, L&D, Ortho – Pratt, KS (67124) — Kansas surgical tech jobs
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour (08:00 – 16:30), Monday–Friday
• Call: Every fifth or sixth weekend and one weekday
• Patient Age Groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Interdisciplinary Support: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Unit Secretary

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Surgical Tech experience required (3 years preferred) — perioperative/OR experience a must
• Travel healthcare experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• National certification required: NBSTSA (CST) or NCCT
• Current BLS certification required (AHA preferred)
• Proficiency in ortho (total joints), general surgery, OB (L&D), podiatry, and endoscopy procedures
• License in hand or compact license required at submission (compact state acceptable)
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Ability to float to different units as needed and work collaboratively with OR teams

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative support as a Surgical Technologist across General OR, Orthopedics, L&D, podiatry, and endoscopy
• Prepare and maintain sterile instrument trays, sterile fields, and surgical equipment
• Assist surgeons and the surgical team during operations, including instrument passing and surgical counts
• Handle specimen collection, proper labeling, and chain-of-custody procedures
• Perform instrument setup, sterilization checks, and equipment troubleshooting in the Operating Room
• Participate in patient care for all age groups with attention to safety and infection control standards
• Respond to scheduled calls (weekend and assigned weekday coverage) and float to support different units as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes and efficient OR workflow
• Adhere to hospital policies, universal precautions, and perioperative best practices
