Job Details

• Position: Travel CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Cardiac ICU Nurse
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890 (competitive travel nursing pay)
• Location: Dayton, Ohio (45409)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48-hour contracts)
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Unit: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), 36-bed unit
• Start Date: April 20, 2026

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of dedicated CVICU / Cardiac ICU experience required (critical care nursing experience preferred)
• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred — experience in a high-acuity hospital a plus
• Active RN license (any U.S. state; Ohio license not required at time of signing)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• EPIC electronic health record (EHR) charting experience required
• Must pass an online EKG/telemetry competency assessment prior to start
• Clinical skills: A-lines, ventilator/vent management, vasoactive drips, arterial blood gases (ABGs), sheaths, temporary pacing, dialysis/CRRT
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips and dysrhythmias
• Travel nursing experience preferred but first-time travel RNs are welcome
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Responsibilities / Clinical Duties

• Provide expert critical care nursing for adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac diagnoses (STEMI/NSTEMI, heart failure, cardiogenic shock, valve disease, AFIB, post-op open-heart recovery)
• Manage advanced cardiac and critical care equipment: chest tubes, temporary pacers, Impella, ECMO, EKOS, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
• Monitor and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, perform hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs), telemetry, and ECGs; respond to dysrhythmias and code situations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, PT/OT, IV therapy, and physicians for coordinated patient care
• Float to other hospital campuses or facilities as needed
• Work every other weekend and scheduled holidays; maintain compliance with facility policies and complete required orientation and competency modules
