Interventional Radiology Nurse – Job Details
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,500 - $2,630
- Job Title: Travel Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN) / Travel RN
- Location: Hyannis, MA (02601) — Cape Cod, Massachusetts
- Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nursing Job
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 8, 2026)
- Hours: 40 hours per week (guaranteed)
- Shift: 8-hour shifts; Days and Evenings (0730-1600, 0800-1630, 1400-2230, 1500-2330); every other weekend; rotating holidays
Required Qualifications – Interventional Radiology RN
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Successful passage of the facility's Pharmacology exam
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Previous intravenous (IV) therapy experience required; current IV experience required
- Proficiency in peripheral line placement for children and newborns within 6 months
- PICC line insertion and ultrasound-guided PIV experience preferred
- Proficiency in PICC placement within 1 year required
- IV Certification (CRNI) within 2.5 years
- BSN preferred
Interventional Radiology RN Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Administer and monitor patient responses to medications and contrast agents per facility policy
- Provide nursing care for patients requiring venipuncture and vascular access, including midlines and PICC lines—key responsibilities for vascular access nurses and IR nurses
- Demonstrate proficiency in sterile technique and assist with interventional radiology procedures as needed
- Direct and guide patient care, teaching, and activities of ancillary personnel
- Maintain standards of professional nursing practice within hospital policies and IR department protocols
- Function as charge nurse when assigned and utilize computerized nursing informatics
- Serve as a clinical resource for patient care, orientation, and staff education
- Participate in unit staff meetings, mandatory programs, and nursing committees to support continuous improvement
- Adhere to safety, blood/body fluid, and infection control policies and procedures
- Represent the hospital in the community while maintaining patient confidentiality
- Provide consistent service excellence to patients, families, visitors, and co-workers
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
