Join a dynamic surgical care team as a PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN) in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This 13-week travel contract offers the chance to practice perioperative and post-anesthesia care in a Level II Trauma Center with advanced surgical services, a Level III NICU and Maternity unit, and a Primary Stroke Center. Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120 – $2,230
- Location: Green Bay, WI 54311 — Travel RN / Travel Nurse role
- Setting: Level II Trauma Center, PACU (Main & East units) — Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (Phase I & Phase II)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (June 1, 2026 – August 29, 2026)
- Shift: 8-hour evening shifts, Monday – Friday
- Hours per Week: 40
- Weekend/Holiday: No weekend or holiday shifts required
- Free Parking: On-site
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent PACU experience with Phase I and Phase II recovery in a hospital or surgical setting
- Active RN license (Wisconsin or compact state) — travel nurse friendly
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- CAPA or CPAN certification required (either accepted)
- Experience caring for post-cath, bronchs, and IR/Neuro IR patients highly preferred
- Proficient in reading/interpreting cardiac rhythms and managing cardiac drips
- EPIC EMR experience required
- First-time travel nurses considered if they have extensive PACU/perioperative experience
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality post-anesthesia care for pediatric and adult patients in pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II PACU settings
- Monitor and manage patients recovering from a wide range of surgical procedures (general, plastics, urology, GI, bariatrics, GYN, neurosurgery, robotics, ophthalmology, ortho, cardiothoracic, ENT, endovascular, bronchs, post-cath, post-IR/Neuro IR)
- Assess and interpret cardiac rhythms; initiate and manage cardiac drips per protocol
- Deliver clear discharge instructions and ensure safe patient transitions to home or inpatient units
- Float between Main and East PACU units as needed to support patient flow
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including charge RN, CNA/LPN, hospitalists, RT, anesthesiologists, and surgeons
- Maintain professional standards, contribute to a positive team environment, and support perioperative quality initiatives
