- Shift: Days, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,050 – $2,160
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Orientation: 24 hours
Job Requirements (PCU RN / Step-Down Nurse)
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Step-Down RN experience — telemetry and post-surgical experience preferred
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS (current)
- Clinical skills: blood product administration, central/PICC line care, telemetry monitoring, wound care, post-surgical patient management
- Ability to float to other units as needed (flexible travel nurse)
- Two professional references (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Responsibilities (PCU RN / Telemetry Nurse)
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to post-surgical and general medicine patients in a progressive care (step-down) environment
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and manage dysrhythmias — core telemetry nurse responsibilities
- Administer medications and blood products; manage IVs, central/PICC lines, and surgical drains
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Implement isolation precautions and infection control protocols
- Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed
- Provide patient and family education and support related to post-surgical recovery and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
