- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (June 21, 2026 – September 20, 2026)
- Shift: Night shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 06:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center, 18-bed Operating Room
- Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Daily Census: 45–50 surgical procedures per day
- Assignment Type: Travel nurse / Travel OR RN opportunity
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN (OR RN) experience — perioperative nurse or surgical nurse background preferred
- Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting system
- Trauma Level I experience preferred — trauma nursing experience a strong plus
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Ability to float to different units within the organization as needed
- Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leadership; Charge RN acceptable for second reference)
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties: General, Robotic, Laparoscopic, Trauma, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Spine, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Burns, Urology, GYN, and Transplant
- Assist with specialized procedures such as abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, craniotomy, mastectomy, joint replacement, and other high-acuity surgeries
- Ensure patient safety, sterile technique, and infection control standards in a fast-paced, high-volume operating room
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical techs, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other units as required by organizational needs and participate in scheduled call coverage (M–F 21:00–06:30; Sat/Sun 12-hour shifts)
