• Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse)
• Location: Roanoke, VA 24014 — Roanoke healthcare jobs / Virginia travel nursing
• Duration: 13 weeks (4/27/2026 – 7/27/2026)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 – $2,010
• Shifts: 3x12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Floating: Required between all ICU and PCU units; may float 2-3 times per shift (Float Pool / Resource Nursing)
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week block or every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: At least 1 holiday per 13-week contract
• Charting: EPIC (required)

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (Virginia or Compact State) — critical care RN / ICU Registered Nurse
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in a large Level I or Level II facility preferred
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• EPIC charting experience required
• Clinical skills: arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, ventilator management
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)

Responsibilities

• Float between all ICU and PCU units as needed, adapting to changing patient acuity and staffing needs (float pool RN duties)
• Provide comprehensive critical care for adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity, Level I Trauma Center environment
• Manage IV therapy, arterial and central line care, blood product administration, and wound care (including wound vacs and drains)
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and follow IV insulin and other critical care protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Document care accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic health record
• Maintain strict infection prevention and isolation precautions
