  • Job Type: Travel RN (Travel Nursing Job)
  • Start Date: May 4, 2026
  • End Date: August 1, 2026
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (1900-0700), every other weekend rotation
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
  • EMR: Epic (preferred) — Epic experience valued for pediatric critical care documentation
  • Scrub Policy: Any scrub color (no hooded shirts; long sleeves must be able to be pulled above elbow)

Qualifications / Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of PICU RN experience required (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit nurse / Pediatric ICU nurse)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • BLS and PALS certifications required (certified for pediatric advanced life support)
  • Experience with ventilator and trach management, suctioning, g-tube/j-tube care and feeding tubes, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, insulin drips, and Foley insertion/management
  • Experience with aseptic/sterile technique, basic dressing changes, and discharge planning
  • CRRT experience with Prismax preferred (continuous renal replacement therapy)
  • CICU experience preferred (cardiac/pediatric ICU experience is a plus)
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Open to first-time travel nurses (new to travel RN assignments)

Responsibilities – Pediatric Critical Care RN

  • Deliver high-quality critical care nursing to pediatric patients with medical, surgical, trauma, and cardiovascular diagnoses
  • Manage respiratory patients: high flow, CPAP, BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and ventilator-dependent patients
  • Provide care for oncology, RSV, asthma, COVID, MIS-C, new-onset diabetes requiring insulin drips, chronically ill, and trauma cases
  • Care for cardiovascular patients with congenital heart defects from post-op through discharge
  • Manage surgical patients including appendectomies, g-tube care, ENT, fresh trachs, bowel obstructions, fractures, VP shunts, cardiac and neuro cases
  • Float to MedSurg or ED as Helping Hands or Constant Observer as needed
  • Participate in every other weekend rotation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, RT, PT/OT, pharmacy) to ensure optimal pediatric patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Epic EMR and follow unit policies for patient safety and infection control
