• Location: Des Moines, IA 50314 — Des Moines nursing jobs / Iowa travel nursing
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 19, 2026)
• Unit / Setting: 9 South Telemetry Unit – Med/Surg Telemetry
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,930 – $2,030 (competitive travel RN pay)
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) / Travel Nursing

Qualifications & Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Iowa or a valid compact RN license
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience (cardiac telemetry experience preferred)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA
• Verified telemetry competency and rhythm interpretation skills
• Available to work up to 3 Saturdays per 6-week schedule period; facility closed on Sundays
• Willingness to work holidays as needed based on surgical volumes
• All onboarding health and compliance requirements must be completed prior to start date

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-procedural nursing care for Med/Surg Telemetry patients (typical stay 1–3 nights)
• Monitor and accurately interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms and respond to changes
• Care for cath lab patients and assist with occasional ER overflow admissions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, techs, case management) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the patient record
• Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients, families, and staff in a busy telemetry setting
