• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse / Travel Nurse – Trauma Unit
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 - $1,770
• Location: Jackson, MS (39216) — Mississippi travel nursing / Jackson healthcare jobs
• Setting: Acute Care, Med/Surg Trauma Unit (32 beds) at a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7p-7a), 36 hours per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36/48 hours rotating per two weeks
• Employment Type: Travel

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license (Mississippi or compact state) — Registered Nurse required
• BLS Certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg experience; trauma or post-surgical experience preferred
• Comfortable managing high-acuity patients, chest tubes, central lines and drains
• Experience titrating drips (heparin; initiating amiodarone infusion)
• Ability to float between Med/Surg units as needed — flexible travel nurse
• Fingerprinting required prior to start (in-person or remote process available)

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to trauma, post-surgical and Med/Surg overflow patients
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, manage lines, drains and chest tubes
• Titrate vasoactive and antiarrhythmic drips per protocol
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy (RT) and central monitoring
• Document patient care using EPIC electronic health record / EPIC charting
• Participate in unit orientation with preceptor for initial shifts
• Float to other Med/Surg units within skillset as needed
• Adhere to professional dress code (solid color scrubs) and rotate weekends/holidays with staff
