Job Requirements (Med/Surg RN Qualifications)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience
- BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- NIHSS certification
- Ability to pass dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed)
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients on Medical Unit 4
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and document care in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, nursing staff) to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on treatment, recovery, discharge instructions, and post-discharge resources
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and compliant clinical environment, following infection control and patient safety protocols
- Demonstrate professionalism and effective communication as part of a fast-paced travel nursing assignment
