Job Requirements (Med/Surg RN Qualifications)

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience
BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
NIHSS certification
Ability to pass dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed)
Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients on Medical Unit 4
Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and document care in the electronic health record
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, nursing staff) to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
Educate patients and families on treatment, recovery, discharge instructions, and post-discharge resources
Maintain a safe, supportive, and compliant clinical environment, following infection control and patient safety protocols
Demonstrate professionalism and effective communication as part of a fast-paced travel nursing assignment
