• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200 – $2,320
• Location: Peoria, IL 61637 (Peoria healthcare, Illinois nursing jobs)
• Setting: Level III NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (self-scheduling and block scheduling available) — night shift RN / NICU RN
• Hours: 36 hours per week (guaranteed)
• Weekend Requirement: Flexible; dependent on facility needs
• Charting System: EPIC

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (or proof of application in progress)
• BLS (AHA) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
• At least 1 year of NICU experience (Level III/IV ICU and micro preemie care preferred)
• Experience titrating drips (Fentanyl, Morphine, Precedex) and IV medication administration
• Negative drug screen required (Drug-Free Campus)
• Willingness to float to PICU, Pediatrics, Nursery, sitter, BHM, and adult units as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to critically ill neonates (from 22 weeks and up) as a neonatal nurse / NICU RN
• Monitor and manage advanced respiratory support: conventional vents, oscillator, JET ventilator, CPAP, Nasal IMV, heated high flow, tracheostomy
• Titrate and administer medications safely per physician orders and unit protocols
• Care for infants with complex diagnoses (abdominal defects, pre-cardiac repair, PPHN, CDH, genetic conditions)
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team including neonatologists, APRNs, residents/fellows, respiratory therapists, and patient care techs
• Participate in self-scheduling/block scheduling and assist with holiday coverage as needed
• Complete unit-specific orientation (typically 1–2 days) and adhere to unit dress code (no fake nails, nail polish, jewelry, or watches)
