Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Location: Peoria, IL 61637 (Central Illinois travel nursing opportunity)
• Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center, Emergency Department (ED) — Emergency Room (ER) nursing
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (travel nurse schedule)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required; block scheduling available
• Charting System: EPIC (electronic medical record experience preferred)

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (or application in process) — Illinois RN required for travel nurses
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing (ER RN) experience required; trauma/critical care experience a plus
• Preferred: 2 years of nursing experience and at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Experience in a teaching hospital preferred
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC or TNS
• SANE RN experience preferred (sexual assault nurse examiner)
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and titrate critical drips (vasopressors, cardiac, antihypertensive)
• Negative drug screen required

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care for patients across the lifespan — newborns to geriatric, including critically ill and trauma cases
• Assess, triage, and manage high-acuity patients in a busy ED with 65 private beds and 2 trauma bays
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, and ED techs to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
• Perform bedside procedures, draw labs, interpret cardiac rhythms, and manage respiratory equipment with RT support
• Float as needed to assist other units in rare "help all" situations
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC and follow departmental protocols and standards for trauma nursing
• Adhere to department scheduling, weekend, and holiday requirements
