• Job Title: Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) / Travel Nurse – Neurosciences Intermediate Unit

• Setting: Neurosciences Intermediate Unit (Telemetry / PCU)
• Assignment Type: Travel assignment (13 weeks)
• Start Date: April 20, 2026
• End Date: July 19, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,860 – $1,960

Job Requirements (Telemetry RN Qualifications)

• Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact State (NC nursing license)
• Current BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years recent Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or neuro telemetry experience
• Experience with EPIC EMR strongly preferred
• Prior travel nurse assignments preferred
• Must pass Telemetry competency (LIST B) and EKG/Pharm exam during compliance
• Neuroscience experience required (stroke care, post-neurosurgical care)
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips and telemetry rhythms
• Must be available to work 3 out of 4 holidays and 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
• All requested time off must be submitted prior to assignment confirmation
• Must live outside an 80-mile radius from the facility

Responsibilities (Telemetry / Neuro RN Duties)

• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients with acute neurological conditions: ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, SAH, post-op neurosurgical patients, seizure disorders, MS, Guillain-Barré, and other neuro diagnoses
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and cardiac rhythms; manage cardiac telemetry alarms and notify providers as indicated
• Assist with invasive procedures and neuro-specific care: lumbar punctures, arterial lines, central lines, tracheostomy care, lumbar drains, and IV starts
• Perform peripheral and arterial blood draws; manage IV drips (cardiac, insulin, heparin) per protocol
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team (physicians, neurophysiology, respiratory therapy, PT/OT, case management) to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC EMR and adhere to facility policies and telemetry competencies
• Manage patient assignments typically 1:4 or 1:5 depending on acuity
