• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (Travel RN) – Post Surgical / Acute Care
• Location: Weirton, West Virginia (Weirton, WV 26062) — West Virginia nursing jobs / Ohio Valley
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950 – $2,060 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (travel nursing contract)
• Setting: Acute Care – Med/Surg Level 7 (Post Surgical)
• Shift: 12-hour nights; weekends/holiday rotations as scheduled
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Start / End Date: April 5, 2026 – July 5, 2026

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in West Virginia or compact state (Registered Nurse)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience (post-op nursing preferred)
• Demonstrated skills with blood transfusions, wound VAC changes, and PCA pump management
• Experience managing heparin drips per protocol
• Comfortable caring for post-op ortho, GU, general surgery, and cath lab patients
• Ability to float to other Med/Surg units, MS-Tele, or IMC as needed
• Uniform: navy blue or white scrubs required (not provided)
• Submission requirements: resume/CV, copy of unexpired driver’s license

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for a diverse post-surgical population
• Monitor and document patient status, including vital signs, I&O, and thorough EMR charting (Cerner)
• Administer medications and blood transfusions; manage wound care and wound VAC changes
• Manage PCA pumps and titrate heparin drips in accordance with unit protocols
• Assist with patient mobility, feeding, and discharge education and planning
• Troubleshoot and support respiratory equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow) when needed
• Collaborate with patient care technicians and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize outcomes
• Complete unit-specific orientation: 1 day with educator plus 1–2 days with a preceptor
