Travel OB Surgical Tech – Methuen, Massachusetts: Seeking a Surgical Technologist / OB Technician with Obstetrics Technician certification and 1+ year of experience for a 13-week travel contract at HFM Maternity. Night shift (11:00 PM–7:30 AM), 40 guaranteed hours per week. Support C-sections and newborn care in a busy hospital birthing center in the Merrimack Valley, near Boston.

• Shift: 8-hour nights (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 5 shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Tech, OB Technician, or Surgical Technologist in a hospital setting
• Obstetrics Technician certification required
• Comfortable working night shifts and thriving in a fast-paced birthing center
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-centered care skills for mothers and newborns
• Experience assisting with C-sections (cesarean deliveries) and perioperative procedures preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgical and obstetrical teams during C-sections and other obstetric procedures in the OR
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field, set up surgical instruments and supplies, and ensure proper equipment functioning
• Support nursing staff as a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) when not assigned to surgical duties—including newborn and maternal support in the birthing center
• Collaborate with perinatal nurses, obstetricians, and surgical techs to deliver high-quality patient care
• Perform OR turnover, instrument counts, and documentation following hospital and infection-control protocols
• Provide compassionate, respectful care to mothers and newborns and communicate effectively with families
