Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Ohio travel nursing)
• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Columbus, Ohio)
• Unit: Medical Surgical Oncology (18 East and West) – MS Tele / PCU
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 16 weeks (Start: 6/15/2026 – End: 10/5/2026)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 – $2,040
• Self-scheduling: Enter your preferred schedule requests
• Orientation: 1 week dayshift, followed by 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license: Ohio license or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) accepted at submission
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last 3 years
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program (ASN/BSN)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / BLS (AHA) certification required
• Epic charting experience required (Epic EMR)
• Ability to float to other MS Tele or PCU units as needed
• 2 professional references required (at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after contract signing
• Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required (chemotherapy competency available)

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a medical surgical oncology MS Tele unit
• Assess and monitor patients, administer medications, and manage IVs and central lines
• Use telemetry monitoring for cardiac and post-op patients (GE telemetry systems)
• Operate clinical equipment including Alaris IV pumps, PCA pumps, bladder scanners, and other specialty devices
• Implement infection prevention, fall prevention, and safe medication administration protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (pharmacy, respiratory therapy, PT/OT, case management) to support patient care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic and participate in unit-based quality initiatives
• Participate in professional development opportunities; 2-day chemotherapy course available for interested RNs
