Job Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $920 – $990
• Location: Fishersville, VA 22939 (Shenandoah Valley) — Virginia travel sterile processing job
• Setting: Hospital – Central Processing Unit (CSPD / SPD)
• Shift: Evening, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Weekend Coverage: Some weekends required
• Start Date: 4/20/2026
• End Date: 7/20/2026

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent experience in sterile processing, central sterile (CSPD/ SPD), or a related surgical instrument reprocessing role
• Certification in CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA preferred (Sterile Processing Technician certification)
• Experience with Meditech charting system required
• Experience in acute hospital operating room (OR) or ambulatory surgery center (ASC) preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Fit testing required (must be able to shave for fit test unless medically exempt)
• Strong knowledge of decontamination, assembly, sterilization procedures, and sterilizer operation (steam, Steris, Sterrad)
• Ability to work some weekends and holidays as scheduled

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, and tracking of surgical instruments, trays, and case carts
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (steam, Steris, Sterrad, etc.) and complete sterilization documentation
• Ensure proper labeling, wrapping, and documentation of all processed items for the sterile processing department
• Utilize biological and chemical indicators to verify sterilization effectiveness and maintain quality assurance
• Reprocess a variety of endoscopes and surgical equipment (e.g., bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, EGD scopes) following facility and manufacturer guidelines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment in accordance with hospital infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate with surgical, OR, and nursing staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile supplies and support efficient case turnover
• Follow all infection prevention, quality, and safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives for sterile processing services
