Job Details
- Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Surgical Oncology (Travel Nurse)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 – $2,040
- Contract Duration: 16 weeks
- Setting: Mixed acuity PCU / MS Tele unit (Medical Surgical Oncology)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30), 3 shifts per week
- Start Date: June 1, 2026
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Location: Columbus, OH 43210 — travel nurse assignment, Ohio nursing jobs
- Orientation: Week 1: Mon–Fri dayshift; Week 2: 36 hours on-unit with preceptor

Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of current Med/Surg RN experience within the last 3 years (Med/Surg, PCU, or MS Tele experience preferred)
- Valid Ohio RN license or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license in hand at time of submission (required for travel nurse placement)
- Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
- Experience with Epic electronic health record (Epic charting) required
- Two professional references: one from manager/director or formal leadership; second may be a Charge RN
- Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
- Influenza vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Previous travel nurse experience preferred; oncology experience preferred but not required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to medical oncology patients on a mixed acuity PCU / MS Tele unit
- Manage patients with a variety of diagnoses including solid tumors and hematologic cancers
- Monitor telemetry using GE telemetry systems and manage care using Alaris infusion pumps, PCA pumps, continuous bladder irrigation, and bladder scanner
- Follow infection prevention and fall prevention protocols consistent with best practices in oncology and med/surg nursing
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, and pharmacy to coordinate patient care
- Float to other MS Tele or equivalent acuity units as staffing needs require
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic electronic health record
