Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of New Mexico or compact multistate RN license
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience preferred (medical-surgical nurse)
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred (Epic/clinical documentation)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to a diverse medical-surgical population, including general medical, surgical, orthopedic, behavioral health, OB surgical, and pediatric patients
• Perform assessments, develop nursing diagnoses, plan care, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes using the nursing process
• Administer medications and treatments per hospital protocol; monitor and document patient response and side effects
• Accurately document patient history, symptoms, medications, interventions, and clinical progress in the electronic health record (Epic)
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on care plans, discharge instructions, and health management
• Delegate tasks and collaborate with nursing assistants and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient care
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families to deliver holistic care
