Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in an inpatient rehab or hospital setting
• Valid SLP certification/license required (state SLP license or ASHA CCC-SLP preferred)
• Ability to work on-site at the inpatient rehab facility and deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care
• Strong clinical communication, documentation, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized speech-language pathology services to inpatients recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological disorders, spinal cord injury, amputation, trauma, and orthopedic conditions
• Perform comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans to maximize patient recovery and functional outcomes
• Treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing (dysphagia) disorders as clinically indicated
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing, and case management to deliver coordinated rehab care
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals, home programs, and discharge planning to support long-term recovery
• Document patient care, progress, and outcomes in the medical record according to facility and regulatory standards
