Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience, including pediatric emergency care
- Active RN license in New York (all RN licenses verified via NURSYS)
- Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
- Experience with EPIC EMR (Emergency Department documentation and order entry)
- Skills checklist matching specialty; trauma nurse and critical care skills preferred
- Up-to-date resume documenting travel experience
- Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics
- Charge nurse capability highly preferred
- Ability to float to other units as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients across the lifespan (newborn, pediatric, adult, geriatric) in a busy Emergency Department
- Assess, triage, and manage common and critical ED diagnoses including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure
- Utilize specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun and perform ED-specific procedures as indicated
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (physicians, techs, respiratory, social work) to coordinate patient care
- Assume charge nurse duties when assigned and support unit flow and staffing
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using EPIC EMR
- Adhere to unit protocols and dress code (navy blue scrubs); float to other units as required
