• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 1, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour days
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)

• Scrubs: Any color, professional attire

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in an involuntary/inpatient behavioral health facility — psychiatric RN or inpatient behavioral health nurse experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-required; compact license accepted if applicable)
• De-escalation certification (CPI or MOAB)
• BLS certification
• Behavioral health experience required (adult population, 18+)
• Ability to assume charge duties as needed — charge nurse experience a plus
• Comfortable floating between 2nd and 3rd floor units
• Open to first-time travelers — travel nurse friendly

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care to adult patients (18+) in an inpatient behavioral health setting
• Perform medical evaluations and coordinate transfers to medical hospitals as needed
• Employ de-escalation techniques (CPI/MOAB) to maintain a safe therapeutic environment
• Assume charge nurse duties when required and collaborate with unit leadership
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Document patient care accurately and timely using EPIC EMR
• Float between units as needed (2nd and 3rd floors, 70 beds combined)
