• Shift: Monday–Friday, typically 11:00am–7:30pm (may require occasional early arrival or late stay)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,040 – $1,110 (competitive weekly pay for travel SPD)
• Schedule Notes: No holidays, call, weekends, or overnights required

Job Requirements and Certifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD)
• Minimum 2 years of certified sterile processing experience in a hospital or Ambulatory Surgical Center
• Previous OR or Med-Surg experience in a healthcare facility (operative instrument handling experience preferred)
• Prior travel assignment experience preferred (travel SPD / travel sterile processing tech)
• Preferred: Orthopedic tray experience; familiarity with implant sterilization and specialty trays

Key Responsibilities (Sterile Processing / Central Sterile)

• Prepare, sort, assemble, and process surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for the Ambulatory Surgical Center using sterile technique and established SPD protocols
• Perform decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments to ensure surgical instrument sterilization standards are met
• Follow manufacturer guidelines for care and handling of instruments and equipment, including specialty and orthopedic trays
• Conduct biological and chemical indicator testing and document sterilization cycle results to maintain quality assurance and compliance
• Participate in continuous quality monitoring and recommend process improvements to enhance central sterile operations and infection control
• Maintain accurate documentation and instrument tracking records; support inventory management, pick, distribute, and deliver supplies and equipment to clinical areas
• Engage in ongoing education and training in all areas of sterile processing and surgical instrument reprocessing
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support patient care, OR teams, and clinical staff
