• Setting: Level 4 Pediatric Operating Room – Pediatric OR / Pediatric Surgical Tech role
• Start Date: April 27, 2026
• End Date: July 25, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shifts: Monday – Thursday, straight nights (must orient on days for first 1–2 weeks)
• Shift Duration: 10 Hour Days
• Shift Options: 9:00pm – 7:00am (40 hrs/wk) or 7:00pm – 7:00am (48 hrs/wk)
• No weekends, no on-call
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,420 – $1,530

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or meet NYS requirements per Public Health Law 2824
• Valid New York State Surgical Technologist License (NY license only)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist (surgical tech / OR tech)
• At least 2 years of pediatric operating room experience (Pediatric Surgical Technologist)
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma center preferred
• Proven ability to scrub and circulate (scrub tech and circulating tech skills)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, instrument handling, and surgical instrumentation for multiple specialties

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team caring for pediatric patients across the age continuum
• Support a variety of pediatric surgical specialties including general surgery, urology, dental/OMFS, neurosurgery, plastics, burns, ENT, and orthopaedics
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field before and during pediatric surgical procedures
• Assist surgeons and perioperative nurses during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
• Perform both scrub and circulating responsibilities as needed for efficient OR workflow
• Ensure all surgical equipment and instrumentation are properly sterilized, set up, and functioning
• Maintain accurate perioperative documentation and adhere to hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control policies
