Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,940 – $3,160 (competitive travel radiology pay)
• Location: Rochester, NY 14642 — Rochester radiology jobs, New York healthcare
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (will consider 6-month contractors)
• Shift: 5x8 hour days (on call/callback/holiday per unit needs)
• Hours per Week: 40
• On Call: 5–7 call shifts per 7-week block (including 2–4 weekend calls)

Required Qualifications (Radiologic Technologist / IR Tech)

• Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with Interventional Radiology (IR) experience preferred
• Valid New York State (NYS) Radiologic Technologist License or ability to obtain prior to start (NYS license required for Rochester, NY roles)
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
• VIR (Vascular Interventional Radiology) certification preferred
• Competency in fluoroscopy, IR procedures, patient prep, and sterile technique

Responsibilities (Interventional Radiology Technologist)

• Perform and consistently produce diagnostic-quality radiologic images by selecting exposure factors and optimal patient positioning
• Assist Radiologists during interventional procedures, including tray setup, device handling, and sterile technique
• Prepare and instruct patients for IR examinations; monitor patient status and communicate effectively with care team
• Operate radiology equipment proficiently (fluoroscopy, C-arm, digital imaging) and report malfunctions promptly
• Complete assigned procedures efficiently and assist with room turnover and departmental workflow
• Maintain medication security, patient confidentiality, and adhere to hospital policies and safety protocols
• Utilize Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS for image management and documentation
• Participate in performance improvement, quality assurance, and infection control initiatives as requested
• Answer technical inquiries from physicians and staff professionally; collaborate with department members to resolve issues
• Demonstrate flexibility, compassion, respect, and accountability when interacting with patients and colleagues across all age groups
