Join a renowned Comprehensive Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (Travel RN). This 16-week travel assignment offers the opportunity to deliver high-acuity oncology and progressive care in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. You will float between MedSurg and PCU Oncology units, supporting a diverse oncology patient population.   • Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) — Columbus healthcare job / Ohio nursing job
  • Assignment Length: 16 weeks (Start: 6/1/2026 – End: 9/21/2026)
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 – $2,040
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30), 3 shifts per week — PCU RN nights / Travel RN nights
  • Setting: Inpatient Nursing Float Pool – PCU/Oncology (Progressive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical float)
  • Employment Type: Travel / Contract RN (Travel Registered Nurse)
  • Orientation: 1 week dayshift orientation, followed by bedside orientation
  • Self-scheduling: Requests considered prior to final schedule posting

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent high-acuity PCU or higher-level acute care experience (within the last 3 years)
  • At least 1 year of current specialty experience required for clinical pass (Oncology / PCU / MedSurg)
  • Travel nursing experience required — experience with travel nursing jobs preferred
  • Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state RN license)
  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record (Epic EHR) required
  • Ability to float to all MedSurg and PCU Oncology units as needed (BMT, Acute Leukemia, Hematology, Medical Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, Urology, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, Corrections Healthcare)
  • Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leader)
  • Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to adult and geriatric oncology patients in a PCU setting — Progressive Care Unit nurse / Oncology RN responsibilities
  • Float between specialized oncology units and MedSurg areas, supporting units such as BMT, Hematology/Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and more
  • Implement and monitor infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention strategies
  • Manage complex patient care, including central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, blood product administration, and telemetry monitoring
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Social Services, and Case Management
  • Utilize Epic for documentation, medication administration records, and patient care coordination (Epic EHR)
  • Participate in self-scheduling and adapt to variable weekend and holiday coverage based on unit needs
  • Engage in continuous learning, maintain unit-based competencies, and complete orientation activities to uphold high standards of care
