Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Memphis, TN 38104 – Tennessee nursing jobs in the heart of Memphis, known for rich musical heritage, world-class dining, and a welcoming community.
- Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel RN)
- Unit: 8 Shorb Neuro Stepdown (Neuro Stepdown RN / Med-Surg RN)
- Start Dates: 5/4/2026 or 5/18/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 – 19:00); 36 or 48 hours per week available
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 – $1,890
- On-Call: As needed
- Weekend Requirement: As needed (weekend block may be considered)
- Orientation: 16 hours
Job Requirements (Neuro RN / Travel RN)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Neuro Stepdown or Medical-Surgical/Neuro settings (3+ years preferred)
- At least 1 completed previous travel assignment required (experienced Travel Nurse preferred)
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Large hospital experience required
- Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state (NLC guidelines apply)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- BLS certification (must remain current throughout assignment)
- Cerner EMR experience preferred (EMR / EHR experience useful)
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Travelers must live at least 100 miles from the facility
- All requested time off must be included at submission
- First-time travelers not accepted
Responsibilities (Neuro RN / Med-Surg)
- Deliver high-quality critical care nursing to neuro stepdown patients in a Level I Trauma Center
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, NP/PA, therapists) to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment using Cerner/EMR
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and procedures as prescribed
- Provide patient and family education on care plans, neurology conditions, and recovery processes
- Participate in team nursing, maintain effective communication with colleagues and leadership, and support quality improvement initiatives
- Float between like units as needed within 20 miles
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
