Travel Nurse Job Details – Columbus, OH (43210)

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 – $2,040
• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio travel nursing / Columbus healthcare)
• Setting: Med/Surg Tele Oncology Unit (19 James Med Onc)
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse, Registered Nurse)
• Start Date: June 15, 2026
• End Date: October 5, 2026
• Duration: 16 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights (19:00 – 07:30), 3 shifts per week (Night Shift / Telemetry RN)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4

Travel Nurse Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (must include at least 1 year of current specialty experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Oncology)
• Valid RN license — compact RN license accepted or Ohio state RN license required at time of submission (Ohio nursing jobs applicants encouraged)
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• EPIC charting experience required (electronic medical record experience preferred)
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing)
• Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity (flexible Med/Surg / Oncology float)
• Two professional references (one must be from a manager/director or formal leadership; Charge RN acceptable for second reference)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred, but not required
• Must meet experience requirements within the 3 most recent years

Med/Surg Telemetry RN – Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric patients with oncology diagnoses (breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, esophageal cancers) and medical-surgical conditions
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy and blood products per unit protocols (Oncology RN responsibilities)
• Continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy and telemetry monitoring (Telemetry RN skills)
• Symptom management secondary to disease treatment or progression and management of comorbidities
• Emphasize infection prevention protocols and fall prevention strategies
• Use and troubleshoot specialized equipment: GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds
• Interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Access and manage ports, arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines; start and maintain IVs
• Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) under supervision
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
• Required to float to other Med/Surg Oncology units as needed (flexible travel nurse assignment)
