Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 – $2,040
• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (close to parks, restaurants, cultural attractions; Columbus nursing jobs)
• Unit: Medical Oncology PCU (18 East and West, 36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit)
• Contract Duration: 16 weeks (Start Date: 6/1/2026 – End Date: 9/21/2026)
• Shift: Night Shift, 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nursing
• Orientation: First week Mon-Fri dayshift; second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor

PCU Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of current PCU, telemetry, or other high-acuity patient care experience within the last 3 years (must be actively working in PCU, telemetry, or high-acuity setting within this timeframe; PCU nurse, telemetry nurse, med-surg oncology experience)
• Valid RN license: compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission (Ohio nursing jobs, travel nurse licensure)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Certifications required: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Epic EMR/charting experience required (Epic charting, electronic medical records)
• Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed (flexible, team-oriented travel nurse)
• 2 professional references (at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required (oncology nurse, oncology telemetry)

RN Responsibilities — Progressive Care & Oncology Telemetry

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to adult and adolescent patients with solid tumor, orthopedic, and thoracic oncology diagnoses (oncology nursing, PCU care)
• Manage PCU and Med Surg Telemetry patient ratios: 1:3 PCU, 1:4–5 Med Surg Telemetry (patient acuity management)
• Interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases (ABGs); respond to telemetry alarms
• Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral lines, and initiate IVs
• Provide care for chest tubes, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, and surgical drains
• Utilize rapid response teams and follow infection prevention protocols (clinical safety, rapid response)
• Operate and troubleshoot specialized equipment: GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, PCA pumps, continuous bladder irrigation
• Float to other PCU or MedSurg Oncology units as needed; participate in interdisciplinary collaboration with physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and more
• Document accurately in Epic and participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
