- Position: Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) / Telemetry RN / IMU RN (Travel)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
- Location: Wheeling, WV 26003 (Wheeling, West Virginia — Ohio Valley)
- Setting: Intermediate Care Unit (IMU), Cardiac Stepdown (30 beds)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights; weekends as scheduled
- Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
- Employment Type: Travel nursing job / contract
Required Qualifications – Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry RN
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in a Cardiac Stepdown, Intermediate Care Unit (IMU), or telemetry setting
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (willing to wait for license submission)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- Proven ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips; telemetry nurse experience preferred
- Experience titrating cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitroglycerin, Heparin; occasional Lasix)
- Comfort floating to Telemetry or MedSurg units as needed
- Compliance with 50-mile radius rule (must submit unexpired driver’s license)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac and intermediate acuity needs in a stepdown/IMU setting
- Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry; manage and titrate cardiac drips per protocol
- Provide care for pre/post cardiac catheterization and pacemaker patients, including groin checks and radial band management
- Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, cardiology teams, and multidisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC and Sunrise EMR systems
- Float between Telemetry and MedSurg units when necessary to support staffing and patient care
- Work scheduled 12-hour night shifts and required weekend rotations; maintain adherence to attendance and cancellation policies
