Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890 (Travel RN pay)
• Location: Martinsville, VA 24112 — Virginia travel nursing / Martinsville, VA job
• Setting: Medical Surgical Unit – Telemetry (Med/Surg Telemetry, acute care)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 26, 2026 – July 26, 2026)
• Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts) — Travel Nurse nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
• Patient Ratio: 1:4 (typical Med/Surg Telemetry RN ratio)
• Unit Size: 41 beds
• Electronic Health Record: Meditech (Meditech EHR experience preferred)
• Orientation: Bi-weekly on Tuesdays

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting (telemetry nursing / acute care experience)
• Active RN license in Virginia
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, Handle with Care, NIH Stroke Scale
• Strong critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently as a Registered Nurse
• Flexibility to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays
• Consent to random drug screening and completion of Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form
• Travelers must reside at least 60 miles from facility (travel nurse eligibility)

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages on the Medical Surgical Telemetry unit (telemetry monitoring, acute care interventions)
• Continuously monitor and assess patients, administer medications, and accurately document care in Meditech EHR
• Manage patients with common diagnoses including post-op orthopedic procedures and total joints (post-op ortho care)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, PT/OT, case management) to ensure continuity and appropriateness of care
• Float to other units or facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed (flexible travel RN duties)
• Maintain professionalism and adhere to facility dress code (no specific scrub color required)
