Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030 - $2,190
• Location: Pikeville, KY 41501 (Pikeville, Kentucky – Appalachian region)
• Setting: Hospital – Outpatient Rehabilitation Services (hospital SLP, outpatient rehab)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 25, 2026)
• Hours: 40 hours/week
• Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 5 days per week (8-hour days)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in a hospital or outpatient setting
• Current Kentucky state license (required) — Kentucky SLP jobs
• BLS training (required after hire)
• ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Proficiency in English (read, write, speak)
• Basic computer skills and experience with patient-related software / EMR documentation

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients from infant through geriatric with speech, language, cognition, and oral-pharyngeal sensory-motor / swallowing (dysphagia) needs
• Plan, implement, review, and revise individualized treatment programs for inpatients and outpatients (outpatient rehab focus)
• Complete timely documentation: evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and billing information in the EMR
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families about treatment goals and home programs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, dietitians, and community agencies
• Support daily operations of speech-language pathology services, including scheduling and equipment maintenance
• Participate in program development, quality improvement, and continuing education
• Teach, evaluate, and schedule students and volunteers under institutional guidelines
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and confidentiality standards while demonstrating respect and dignity in all interactions
