Job Details - Emergency Department (ED) RN
- Assignment Length: 14 weeks

- Setting: Emergency Room / Emergency Department (ED)
- Shift: 12-hour days (06:45 – 19:15)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890
- Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse
- Location: State College, PA 16801 (Pennsylvania travel nursing)
Required Qualifications - ER RN / ED RN
- Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience (ED RN experience preferred)
- Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Valid NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience with EPIC electronic charting preferred
- Strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to function effectively as a team member and liaison between patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff
- Demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, and emotional resilience in high-pressure emergency care situations
Key Responsibilities - Emergency Nursing
- Provide professional nursing care in the emergency department following current nursing knowledge and Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) standards
- Triage patients entering the ED and determine priorities of care using rapid assessment skills
- Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care based on ongoing assessments and clinical judgment
- Manage emergency supplies and equipment to ensure availability and functionality for critical care
- Recognize and manage complications and emergencies according to hospital policies and ENA/ED standards
- Document patient history, assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the medical record (EPIC preferred)
- Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, health status, and discharge instructions
- Foster clear communication and teamwork within the emergency department and across hospital units
