Job Details - Emergency Department (ED) RN

• Assignment Length: 14 weeks

• Setting: Emergency Room / Emergency Department (ED)
• Shift: 12-hour days (06:45 – 19:15)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890

• Location: State College, PA 16801 (Pennsylvania travel nursing)

Required Qualifications - ER RN / ED RN

• Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience (ED RN experience preferred)
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Valid NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with EPIC electronic charting preferred
• Strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to function effectively as a team member and liaison between patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff
• Demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, and emotional resilience in high-pressure emergency care situations

Key Responsibilities - Emergency Nursing

• Provide professional nursing care in the emergency department following current nursing knowledge and Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) standards
• Triage patients entering the ED and determine priorities of care using rapid assessment skills
• Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care based on ongoing assessments and clinical judgment
• Manage emergency supplies and equipment to ensure availability and functionality for critical care
• Recognize and manage complications and emergencies according to hospital policies and ENA/ED standards
• Document patient history, assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the medical record (EPIC preferred)
• Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, health status, and discharge instructions
• Foster clear communication and teamwork within the emergency department and across hospital units
