Job Details – Travel Surgical Tech (Columbia, SC)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,240 - $1,330
- Contract Duration: 10 weeks (Start: 4/27/2026 – End: 7/6/2026)
- Job Title: Travel Surgical Technologist / Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (06:45 AM – 5:15 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40
- On-call: 1 call per week, 1 late call, and 1–2 weekends every 6 weeks (call requirements may change)
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital – General Surgery Unit; Trauma Level I cases
- Charting / EMR: Epic
- Floating: May float between service lines and sister facilities

Required Qualifications – Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – NBSTSA required (NCCT not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience (3+ years preferred) in operating room / perioperative environment
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Travel experience required (previous travel surgical tech assignments preferred)
- Radiation badge required (must be provided by agency)
- Experience with community hospital and Trauma Level I settings preferred
- Familiarity with Epic charting preferred
- Ability to float between service lines and sister facilities as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Responsibilities – Operating Room (OR) Tech / Perioperative Duties
- Assist in a wide variety of surgical procedures including general, orthopedic, gynecologic, trauma, and specialty cases
- Prepare operating rooms and supplies, ensure aseptic technique, and maintain sterile fields
- Serve as first assist or scrub tech as appropriate; support surgeons and circulating staff during procedures
- Manage and document instrument and equipment usage; perform instrument counts and sterile processing coordination
- Perform perioperative documentation in Epic and maintain accurate patient and procedure records
- Participate in on-call rotation and scheduled weekend coverage as required
- Float between service lines and sister facilities when needed to support patient care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and adherence to hospital policies (including emergency response during hurricane season)
