• Location: Dayton, OH 45409 (Dayton healthcare / Ohio nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
• Setting: Neuroscience / High-Risk Respiratory Intermediate Care Unit (36 beds) – PCU / Stepdown
• Shifts: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,860 – $1,960
• Employment Type: Travel RN, W2 (travel nursing job, Ohio travel nurse)

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 1.5 years recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Stepdown nursing experience (ICU-only experience does not qualify)
• Experience working 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratios in PCU/Stepdown settings
• Required ventilator experience (management of vents, BiPAP, heated high flow, trach/vent care)
• Active RN license (any state). Compact licenses accepted — Ohio nursing license preferred
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• EPIC EMR charting experience required (EPIC charting)
• Must pass an online EKG/telemetry competency assessment prior to start
• IV start skills preferred; travel nursing experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with neurological and high-risk respiratory conditions, including CVA, TIA, seizures, and complex neuro cases
• Operate and manage ventilators, heated high flow systems, BiPAPs, tracheostomies, and respiratory equipment typical of a PCU/Stepdown nurse
• Perform cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpret EKGs; manage central and peripheral lines and administer blood products when indicated
• Care for patients with feeding tubes, surgical drains, and tracheostomies; provide comprehensive neuro and respiratory assessments
• Collaborate in a team nursing model with RNs, LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to Neuro ICU and other hospital campuses within a 15-mile radius as needed
• Document accurately and efficiently using EPIC EMR; complete required orientation modules and maintain compliance with facility policies
• Work every other weekend and holiday as scheduled
