- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890 – $1,990
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must meet state requirements for Kansas assignments)
- BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- Minimum of 2 years of bedside clinical experience
- Experience in LTAC, long-term acute care, or similar acute care settings preferred
- Experience with ventilator care, tracheostomy care, wound management, or complex case management is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission and develop individualized LTAC care plans
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Manage complex patients commonly seen in long-term acute care: ventilator-dependent, tracheostomy, wound care, and multi-system issues
- Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the medical record
- Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and collaborate with patients and families on care goals and discharge planning
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission to support successful transitions of care
- Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols
- Contribute to a positive unit culture, participate in team-building activities, and support unit quality initiatives
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
- Engage in professional development, continuing education, and maintain specialty certifications relevant to LTAC nursing
