Sterile Processing Technician travel job in Hummelstown, PA (near Hershey). Join our hospital Sterile Processing Department (SPD/CSPD) team on a 13-week contract to support surgical services and ensure patient safety through expert instrument sterilization and distribution.

Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,240 – $1,330
• Location: Hummelstown, Pennsylvania (Zip: 17036) – Hershey area
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 14, 2026 – July 12, 2026)
• Shift: 8-hour night shifts with possibility of rotating to days
• Shifts per Week: 5 shifts per week
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Employment Type: Travel, On-site, Allied Health position

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in a hospital or clinical setting
• Valid Sterile Processing Technician certification (CRCST, CSPDT, CBSPD, or equivalent) preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to rotating schedules
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to infection control and sterile technique
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills with surgical and nursing staff

Key Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, sterilize, assemble, and prepare surgical instruments and equipment for hospital procedures
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (autoclaves, sterilizers) and perform routine equipment checks
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, tracking, and inventory in the Sterile Processing Department
• Follow strict infection prevention, sterile processing, and safety protocols to protect patients and staff
• Collaborate with perioperative, surgical, and nursing teams to meet daily clinical needs and instrument turnover
• Inspect instruments for damage, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed
