Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• At least 1 year of recent ICU or critical care experience as an RRT (ICU respiratory therapist)
• Current Virginia State Respiratory License
• Current BLS & ACLS certifications
• Comfortable and experienced with Meditech EMR
• Strong ventilator management, arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation, and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory treatments including nebulizers, BIPAP/CPAP, and advanced ventilator management
• Conduct arterial blood gas procedures and interpret results to guide care
• Manage floor assignments (approximately 20–25 treatments per round) and provide high-quality clinical respiratory care
• Operate and troubleshoot oxygen delivery systems, ventilators, blood gas analyzers, and other respiratory equipment
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to implement respiratory care plans for critical care and step-down patients
• Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR and follow hospital policies and protocols
