Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
• Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) — Columbus healthcare / Ohio nursing jobs
• Unit: James Palliative Unit, 11th Floor (12-bed medical surgical unit)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start Date: 6/15/2026 – End Date: 9/14/2026)
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00) — Night Shift RN
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel (travel nurse / travel nursing job)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) clinical experience required
• Active RN license (Nurse Licensure Compact OR Ohio RN license in hand at time of submission)
• BLS certification required
• EPIC charting system experience required (EPIC documentation)
• Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive palliative care and symptom management for patients with serious, life-limiting illnesses
• Deliver end-of-life comfort care, family support, and bereavement planning
• Assess and manage uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, fatigue, dyspnea, and other distressing symptoms using pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions
• Use verbal and nonverbal pain scales and implement individualized care plans
• Perform care and management of peripheral IVs, central lines, and ports
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT/OT, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and case management
• Float to inpatient units as needed prior to unit opening and during orientation/training
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC and support continuity of care
