- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shifts, 4x10-hour (8:00 AM – 6:30 PM); facility may consider 5x8s or 4x10s
- Hours per Week: 40
- Call: Required, per department need (call rotation expected)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,350 – $2,530 (competitive travel pay for cardiac sonographer roles)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Echo Tech experience; 3 years strongly preferred (hospital-based echocardiography strongly preferred)
- Current ARDMS RDCS (AE) certification required (Cardiac Sonographer, RDCS)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- RDCS - RVT certification preferred (vascular ultrasound experience a plus)
- Proficient with 2-D, 3-D Echo, Color Doppler, M-Mode, and stress echo procedures
- Vascular ultrasound experience preferred; cross-training in vascular studies beneficial
- Travel assignment experience preferred (travel echo jobs / travel cardiac sonographer)
- Experience with Cerner EMR/Cerner charting system preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed)
- Pending state license accepted with submission; license must be active before start
- Must pass on-site drug screening prior to assignment
- Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible for this travel assignment
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of echocardiographic and vascular studies across the lifespan: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Conduct portable studies and administer contrast agents for advanced cardiac imaging when indicated
- Utilize advanced echocardiography techniques including bubble studies, LV strain/volume analysis, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and accurate diagnostic imaging
- Maintain precise documentation and charting in Cerner EMR to support diagnostic and clinical workflows
- Participate in call rotation and provide weekend and holiday coverage as required
- Adhere to infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols to ensure patient and staff safety
