- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30), 3 shifts per week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,050 – $2,160 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
- Float Requirement: May float to other units within the organization as needed
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU / Stepdown RN experience (Progressive Care Unit, step-down or intermediate care)
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Epic EMR (Epic charting) experience required
- Previous charge nurse and Level I trauma experience preferred
- Ability to provide two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leader)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a surgical/trauma/ortho PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
- Manage a typical night shift patient ratio of 1:4
- Perform and manage advanced PCU clinical skills: BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia recognition and management, and wound care
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips and insulin drips as appropriate
- Provide care for central lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and blood product administration
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response/code teams
- Participate in trauma, ortho, and post-surgical patient care and rapid response activations
- Accurately document all patient care in Epic EMR
- Float to other units as required to meet patient care needs
