- Employment Type: Travel (hospital setting, acute care)
- Duration: 26 weeks (May 18, 2026 – November 16, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts, 40-hour work week
- On-Site: Hospital-based echocardiography department
- Number of Positions: 2
- Start Date: May 18, 2026 (arrival Thursday before start for employee health appointment)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute hospital setting as an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer
- ARDMS or CCI certification required (RDCS preferred)
- Active AHA BLS certification
- Demonstrated competency in adult echocardiography: 2D, Doppler CW & PW, color flow mapping, valvular disease studies, cardiomyopathies, hypertensive heart disease
- Experience with 2D & 3D TEE (transesophageal echocardiography) and diagnosis of pericardial disease and effusions
- Pediatric echocardiography experience is a plus (but not required)
- Ability to float to other departments to support patient care in a hospital/acute care environment
- Professional attire or personal scrubs required
- Familiarity with Epic EMR documentation is preferred (transition noted in department)
Responsibilities (Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer)
- Perform comprehensive echocardiographic studies on adult patients, including 2D, Doppler, color flow imaging, and advanced valvular and cardiomyopathy assessments
- Conduct specialized studies for valvular disease, cardiomyopathies, congenital and pericardial conditions, and pericardial/pleural effusions
- Perform 2D & 3D transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs) as indicated
- Operate Canon i700 and i900 echocardiography systems used in the department
- Document studies and patient information accurately in Epic EMR (department transitioning November 1, 2025)
- Participate in rotating shifts and on-call coverage as required for hospital echocardiography services
- Float to other clinical departments as needed to support workflow and patient care
