Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 - $1,570
- Location: Lafayette, Indiana (47905) — Indiana behavioral health jobs
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), Friday / Saturday / Sunday
- Hours per Week: 40
- Setting: Behavioral Health Division – Assessment Specialist Unit (inpatient assessment)
- Dress Code: Business casual (no jeans)
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, or therapy settings (adult & geriatric populations)
- Valid Indiana license: RN, LSW (Licensed Social Worker), LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor), or LMHA
- Nursing degree (for RN) or Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related clinical field required
- Strong assessment skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Self-starter / Type A personality preferred; excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive behavioral health and psychiatric assessments to determine admission criteria for inpatient care
- Conduct clinical evaluations for adults and geriatric patients presenting with mental health and substance use concerns
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary assessment team to coordinate patient care and disposition
- Support patients with addiction, co-occurring disorders, and other mental health diagnoses
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation (paper-based or non-EHR system) and uphold professional standards of care
- Contribute to a positive, supportive environment for patients, families, and staff
