MICU Registered Nurse (Travel) – Everett, WA | Critical Care RN needed for a 13-week assignment at a Level II Trauma Center; 2+ years MICU RN experience required. - Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,900 – $2,000
- Location: Everett, WA 98201 (Puget Sound / Seattle area)
- Facility Type: Level II Trauma Center
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (06:30 – 19:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2-week period
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Charting: EPIC (experience preferred)
- Scrub Color: Any (except reddish orange)
- Parking: Facility paid
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent MICU RN experience or Medical ICU RN experience
- Active Washington RN license or Compact RN license
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- 2 hours of stroke-specific education annually
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record (charting)
- Ability to float to similar critical care or telemetry units as needed
- Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last three years
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs in a high-acuity MICU
- Manage ventilated patients, including ventilator settings, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and hypothermia protocols
- Assist with and support bedside procedures: central and arterial line management, chest tube care, rapid sequence intubation, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
- Administer blood products, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and manage continuous IV sedation safely
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs), hemodynamics, and cardiac dysrhythmias; respond to code blue and rapid response scenarios
- Maintain infection prevention, isolation precautions, and safe critical care practices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV therapy, physical therapy, and providers
- Float to telemetry or related units as needed based on census and clinical demand
- Standard patient ratio is 2:1; may increase to 4:1 for boarders as operational needs require.
