Job Details – PACU RN / Travel Nurse

• Location: Charleston, West Virginia (25302) – Charleston travel nursing, West Virginia nursing jobs
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 30, 2026 – July 30, 2026)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,870 – $1,970
• Hours: 40 hours/week, 8-hour day shifts (start times vary 7:30am–10:00am)
• Weekend Call: Every other weekend (36-hour call shift: 7am Saturday – 7pm Sunday)
• Orientation: 16 hours, every other Thursday
• Setting: PACU – 7 rooms, 7 beds, average daily census 26
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 pediatric patients; 2:1 adult patients
• Charting: Cerner (experience preferred)
• Parking: Free for travelers

Job Requirements – PACU RN / Post-Anesthesia Care Nurse

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year PACU RN experience with pediatric patients
• Active West Virginia RN license or Compact RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by start date)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association required)
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• At least 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical exemptions accepted with documentation)
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility (75–99 miles considered case-by-case)
• First-time travel nurses welcome if experience requirements are met

Responsibilities – PACU Registered Nurse

• Provide high-quality post-anesthesia care to pediatric and adult patients in a fast-paced PACU setting
• Monitor patient recovery, manage pain, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Perform focused assessments and implement evidence-based interventions for post-op patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including anesthesia, surgeons, and perioperative staff to ensure safe, effective care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner electronic health records
• Participate in weekend call rotation and contribute to unit staffing needs
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety standards
